Dark Ivory #3
Joseph Michael Linsner's cover for this third chapter of "Blue Blood" presents a striking duality: a pale, winged figure crowned with a red gem dominates the composition in cool ivory tones, her vast bat-like wings spread wide, while a smaller inset portrait below shows a dark-haired young woman with fangs bared and fierce green eyes. The visual contrast between these two forms — one ethereal and imposing, the other raw and intense — gives the "Fall From Grace" subtitle a haunting resonance. With writing by Linsner and Eva Hopkins and art fully rendered by Linsner, this 2008 Image series continues to build a world where beauty and darkness are thoroughly intertwined.
