The penultimate chapter of Tom Taylor's Dark Ages arrives with a cover that pulls no punches: Iban Coello's art (colored by Brian Reber) plunges us into a chaotic three-way struggle as a central figure fights desperately against the encroaching tendrils of both Venom and Carnage, their symbiote forms looming with gnashing jaws on either side. A second hero is already being dragged down by Carnage's crimson tendrils below, lending the scene a genuine sense of overwhelm and urgency. If this issue's cover is any indication of the stakes inside, Tom Taylor and company are delivering one of Marvel's most viscerally gripping series of 2022.
