About this Collection

This six-issue limited series from 2005 sends Matt Murdock to a small town in the Southwest to defend a young man accused of a brutal murder, forcing Daredevil to confront both the town's dark secrets and his own past. Written by David Hine with art by Michael Gaydos, the story is a tense, character-driven crime drama that strips the Man Without Fear of his usual urban setting. It collects Daredevil: Redemption #1-6.

In "Redemption Part 1," Matt Murdock confronts a haunting past when his long-convicted client faces execution, prompting a quiet, painful question from the condemned boy about Daredevil’s true identity. Written by David Hine and illustrated with haunting precision by Michael Gaydos, this powerful story unfolds in stark, emotional detail, with Lee Loughridge’s colors and Cory Petit’s lettering deepening the weight of every moment. The cover by Bill Sienkiewicz captures the story’s somber intensity, setting the tone for a tale where justice arrives too late.

Matt's client is convicted of murder and sentenced to death. Years later, as the penalty is about to be enforced, Matt visits the boy during his death watch and is subtly asked by his innocent charge if the rumors about him being Daredevil are true and, if so, could he prevent the upcoming execution. Matt stands by helpless as the boy is killed by lethal injection. Daredevil finally solves the real crime and brings the murderer to justice but too late to prevent an innocent from death.
