About this Collection

This volume collects issues #56-60 of Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev's acclaimed run on Daredevil, continuing the gritty saga as Matt Murdock's secret identity is publicly exposed. The story delves into the fallout of that revelation, with the Kingpin orchestrating a scheme from prison while a new vigilante called the Unusuals emerges in Hell's Kitchen.

In "Hardcore [Part 1]," Daredevil #7 (2003) delivers a tense, character-driven dive into Matt Murdock’s world as Kingpin reasserts his grip on Hell’s Kitchen, pulling Mary back into the chaos she once tried to escape. With a date between Matt and Milla quickly derailed by Typhoid Mary’s violent return, the issue pulses with emotional stakes and rising danger. Written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated with gritty precision by Alex Maleev—whose inks and colors heighten every shadow—this standout issue features a cover by Maleev that captures the story’s raw intensity.
