Daredevil #278

Daredevil hurls himself fists-first at a massive, shadowy creature bristling with dark, feather-like tendrils in this striking 1990 Marvel issue, with cover art by John Romita Jr. and Al Williamson that crackles with raw, chaotic energy. Titled "Heart of Darkness," the cover pits the Man Without Fear against something genuinely unsettling — a hulking, clawed beast that looks like it crawled out of a nightmare. Ann Nocenti's run on this series had been pushing Daredevil into increasingly dark territory, and issue #278, "The Deadly Seven," promises more of that bold, unflinching storytelling.
