Dante's Inferno #4 brings Wildstorm's adaptation of the EA video game to a fever pitch with this haunting May 2010 issue, subtitled "Despair." Diego Latorre's cover is a visceral, painterly nightmare — a towering horned demon, its face illuminated by hellfire, dominates the darkness while a warrior figure rendered in stark monochrome occupies the right panel, red accents cutting through the ash-grey chaos. Writer Christos Gage and the multitalented Latorre, handling every visual aspect of the interior as well, have crafted a series that takes Dante's descent into the underworld seriously as both spectacle and story.
