Danger and Adventure #24
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeAn anthology featuring multiple stories: "Granger" follows a man pursued by a tiger through a waterfall who is eventually caught and turned over to authorities after being tracked down. A second story involves a detective investigating the murder of famous jockey Tip Rainey, discovering clues at a lunch wagon that lead to solving the case. "Colonel Corn and Korny Kobb" is a humorous tale about two men arguing over a debt—Colonel Corn seeks repayment from Korny Kobb, claiming he is owed ten dollars, but Korny refuses to pay due to the Colonel's status as an aviator and the misunderstanding over whether an aviator can be an "ace."
When John's prized animals vanish from a rubber plantation, he trails the thieves to the neighboring Granger property—only to find himself caught between a hostile landowner, a mysterious waterfall, and a scheme far more dangerous than simple theft. With the help of Hank and Theo Granger, John must navigate jungle traps, wild animals, and double-crosses to uncover who's really behind the stealing and clear the Grangers' names before it's too late.
When Colonel Corn can't pay back the ten dollars he owes Korny Kobb, he launches into a hilariously tangled explanation involving aviators, aces, and jacks that only confuses matters further. As Korny tries to help the muddled Colonel remember what medicine he needs to pick up at the drugstore, a series of ridiculous wordplay exchanges pushes Korny's patience to the breaking point. This 1955 humor romp is pure comedic chaos—where logic goes to die and punchlines hit like slapstick.
