Part of DC's "New Age of Heroes" line and tied into the Dark Nights: Metal event, this issue of Damage opens the "Monstrous" arc with a cover that commands attention — a titanic, red-eyed gorilla clutches a defiant Damage in one massive fist while the muscular hero rears back a fist of his own, clearly not ready to go quietly. Aaron Lopresti's cover art sells the sheer scale of the threat beautifully, and the tagline "Where Monsters Go to Die!" sets an appropriately fierce tone for what's ahead. Robert Venditti and Lopresti make a strong case that DC's most volatile powerhouse has just met a opponent worthy of his destructive potential.
