“Deadweight”

In "Deadweight," the D.P. 7 team—now living together in a Soho apartment—faces a deadly assault from the freelance assassin known only as Deadweight. After fending off the attack, Jenny uncovers unsettling truths: the C.I.A. has severed ties with the group due to Voigt's actions, and the assassin was hired by Irene Dobish, furious over her removal from the agency’s paranormal division and subsequent transfer to South America. Written by Mark Gruenwald and illustrated by Paul Ryan, with inks by Danny Bulanadi, colors by Paul Becton, and letters by Janice Chiang, the cover by Ryan and Bulanadi captures the tension of a moment that changes everything.

Now sharing an apartment in Soho, the group is attacked by the freelance assassin, Deadweight. After they defeat him, Jenny learns from agent Wade that the women have been cut loose by the C.I.A. because of Voigt's interference. She also learned that Deadweight was hired by Irene Dobish because she was angered that she had been taken of the agency's paranormal force and relocated to South America.
