When Dr. Benson becomes ill and disoriented in the operating room, it's feared he has Parkinson's disease. Dr. Reynolds orders Cynthia to take him on a picnic to get his mind off things, but he crashes the car. While waiting for an ambulance, Ed admits his love for Cynthia. But after an operation, while it's revealed that he does not have Parkinson's, he does have some slight amnesia and doesn't remember his confession.
