Top Cow's horror series Cutter reaches its third issue with a cover that's equal parts haunting and visceral — a gaunt, skull-faced figure in a tattered, blood-spattered dress strides forward through darkened grass, wielding a pair of massive, rust-worn shears. Christian DiBari's linework bathes the image in a hellish red atmosphere that makes the creature's hollow eyes and wind-swept hair genuinely unsettling. Writers Robert Napton and Seamus Kevin Fahey have built something refreshingly grim here, and this 2014 Image/Top Cow entry makes clear the series isn't pulling any punches.
