Critters #31

Fantagraphics' beloved all-ages anthology Critters reaches its 31st issue with a delightful harbor scene by cover artist Freddy Milton. A green, red-scarfed dragon clings to the deck of a steamship while a yellow creature scrambles nearby — the whole chaotic tableau unfolding dockside under a sunny yellow sky, with the ship's smokestack looming behind them. Steve Bissette handles the interior duties solo on "Dartfly Airways," making this a fine snapshot of the charming, creator-driven spirit that made Critters such a treat in 1988.
