The fourth chapter of "The Sinners" arrives wrapped in a mood as thick as a fog-drenched alley — Sean Phillips's cover places a grim, shadowed man at the center of a Chinatown street, glowing red lanterns and neon-lit storefronts pressing in around him, the whole scene bathed in a deep crimson that practically radiates danger. Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips were already one of crime comics' most dependable duos in 2010, and this issue's cover makes a compelling case for why. If noir atmosphere is what you're after, this one delivers it in spades.
