Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips continue their noir collaboration with this third chapter of Criminal: The Last of the Innocent, published by Marvel's Icon imprint in 2011. Sean Phillips's cover sets a deeply moody tone — a weary man in a overcoat lights a cigarette against a brick wall, while a striking woman with large hoop earrings looms large behind him on what appears to be a poster or advertisement, her gaze intense and unavoidable. The rich, blood-red palette and that tension between the brooding foreground figure and the watchful woman overhead make this one of the arc's most atmospheric covers yet.
