The police are stunned when Victor Gattling brings in the dead body of his best friend Joe and then claims that he has been killed by him! He tells the puzzled cops that while he and Joe were working as lab partners, Joe had accidentally stuck Victor with a syringe containing the Bubonic plague. Later Joe tells Victor that he did it on purpose because Victor kept taking all the credit for their work. Victor hunts down Joe and murders him. It's later revealed that the syringe contained water and that it was an April Fool's joke. Victor had killed his friend for nothing!
