As Valentini's vendetta escalates into a deadly game of cat and mouse, Masseria is forced to flee and outwit assassins, all while maintaining a public image of innocence.

A scheming insurance agent manipulates a widow into signing over her life insurance, then orchestrates her murder with two hired thugs to collect the payout. When a chance encounter with two pedestrians leads to a police investigation, the inspector begins to unravel the crime—forcing the conspirators into a desperate, self-sabotaging plan to cover their tracks.
