A young delinquent named Frankie is caught with stolen goods and sentenced to the electric chair, but a police officer named Mike intervenes to give him a second chance in the state reformatory instead. In a separate story, a woman seeks revenge for her husband Ernie's murder by a gang; she purchases a decorative bronze head from a curio shop, only to discover it contains a legendary black pearl connected to her husband's death. When the woman learns the pearl came from a gang member's eye socket, she plots to use it as bait to trap those responsible, eventually confronting the gang at a dive where she threatens to expose them unless they confess.
