This issue contains two true crime stories. "Obey the Law" follows a man named Johnny O'Banion, a gangster whose girlfriend Lucy Turino becomes entangled in his criminal activities in Chicago; after O'Banion is killed, Lucy eventually abandons the life of crime. "Beano Breen: The South Side Strong Boy" recounts how the notorious Kerry Village tough, Beano Breen, was so formidable that his rivals imported a muscle-man to challenge him, though Breen proved unstoppable. "Hutch Ryerson and the Body in the Box" tells of con-man Hutch Ryerson, who purchased a coffin without examining its contents and became implicated in a murder when the coffin was found to contain a corpse.
