Lou Morales delivers a gripping cover for this 1953 Charlton entry in the Crime and Justice series — a terrified blonde woman in a red dress and a man clutching a suitcase scramble frantically away from a smoke-billowing automobile outside what appears to be a roadside hotel. With a gun-wielding hand looming ominously at the top of the frame, the scene perfectly sets the tense, noir mood promised by the interior story "Vacation from Violence," written by Carl Memling with art by Morales throughout.
