“One Fine Day in the Andes”

John Severin's cover for this January 1993 issue of Cracked riffs gleefully on the era's biggest pop-culture targets — a wide-eyed, hands-on-cheeks caricature of Macaulay Culkin anchors the image in a bathroom setting, complete with acne cream standing by and the tagline "Home Alone 2½: Zit Happens!" Also promised inside are parodies of Unforgiven and Melrose Place, making this a fine snapshot of what had everyone talking in early '93. Severin's illustrative precision gives the Culkin likeness just enough exaggerated panic to land the joke perfectly.
