Steve Englehart's Coyote was one of the more ambitious superhero concepts Epic Comics brought to readers in 1983, and issue #3 keeps that energy going with the tantalizing tagline "Enter the Djinn." Butch Guice's cover depicts a powerfully built, shirtless figure — Coyote himself — crouching on rocky terrain against a blazing red-orange sky, while a robed, glowing figure looms large in the background, suggesting a clash of very different supernatural forces. It's a striking composition that promises something wild and mythologically charged in Steve Englehart's story "How Coyote Chased His Tail.
