This anthology issue contains three Western stories. "Denis Rouble: A Story of the Texas Rangers" depicts a confrontation involving the Texas Rangers. "Denver Mudd and Bushey Barns" is a comedic tale featuring the muscular character Denver Mudd, the sheriff out of town, in which Bushey Barns and other locals listen to a political speech by an opposing election candidate. "Legends of Paul Bunyan" presents a tall tale narrated by an elder to a child, describing lumberjacks in the North Woods who felled timber and processed logs.
