"Cowboy Love" #31 contains two stories. The lead story follows Nevada, a cowboy torn between his wild past and his love for Tara, a gentle woman trying to reform him. When Nevada cannot abandon his yearning for excitement, he leaves Tara behind, only to later attempt to win back Carol Leyton, his former flame. Nevada faces off against Billy Bearse in a gunfight, but Melody, a woman who loves Nevada, intervenes and is shot instead, forcing Nevada to confront the consequences of his restless nature. The second story features a physician named Dr. Blaine who abandoned his medical practice to become a gunslinger and earn a reputation. When a young woman named Judith confronts him about leaving medicine, a gunfight erupts in his office, and though Blaine survives, he is moved by Judith's tears and devotion, suggesting he may reconsider his violent path.
