Copacabana #57
In "Quand le cœur choisit...", Judith is drawn to the lush gardens of madame Fournier’s estate, where she first encounters Eric, a man whose quiet presence and strange devotion to the land unsettle her. As their bond deepens, she begins to suspect there’s more to his reclusive life than meets the eye—especially when the truth about the ancient lilies and a century-old secret begins to unfold. A haunting, quietly suspenseful tale from 1976, illustrated with a delicate, evocative touch and a typeset lettering style that complements its timeless mood.

Judith admires the flowers blooming on madame Fournier's land. One day she hears a call for help and enters the property where she meets Eric. Eric introduces her to his great aunt, who had slipped and fallen. Judith returns often to see Eric and, although they love each other, she feels there is something a little odd about him. She wonders why he never leaves the property. Madame Fournier reveals that she is a botanist who had discovered the secret to prevent aging based on the lilies there. Eric was actually her assistant and they had lived there together for a century.
