Convergence Crime Syndicate #1

Part of DC's 2015 Convergence event, this first issue of two puts the Crime Syndicate front and center — literally. The cover, penciled and inked by Phil Winslade, presents a commanding woman in a black costume bearing a bold "S" emblem seated in an electric chair, flanked by four disembodied, wide-eyed male heads sporting distinctive accessories: a winged cowl, a red lightning-bolt helmet, a green domino mask, and a clean-cut jawline that radiates menace. It's a wonderfully unsettling composition that sets a tone of dark authority, with writer Brian Buccellato and colorist Lovern Kindzierski rounding out a creative team that looks ready to deliver something genuinely memorable from DC's mirror-world of villainy.
