About this Collection

This collection brings together the 1991 Marvel miniseries Conan the Rogue, written by Timothy Truman and illustrated by Tomás Giorello. The story follows Conan as he navigates a treacherous path through the Hyborian Age, facing sorcery and betrayal while seeking fortune and survival. It's a standalone adventure that captures the gritty, sword-and-sorcery tone of Robert E. Howard's iconic character.

In "Conan the Rogue," the Cimmerian finds himself entangled in a web of betrayal and dark magic when he serves as bodyguard to Tarsu Khan. As rival factions scheme to ignite war between Khawarizm and Fort Ghori, Conan must flee with Zaida into the cursed Nightmare Swamp—where twisted creatures and soul-draining horrors await. Written by Roy Thomas and John Buscema, with art by John Buscema and a striking cover by Joe Jusko, this 1991 Marvel tale blends political intrigue with visceral fantasy.

Acting as bodyguard for Tarsu Khan, Conan is drawn into the political intrigue as Nassidren and Bashi are plotting to instigate war between Khawarizm and Fort Ghori. Nassidren takes control of Rimanni's mind and she causes the death of Darik while dancing at the court. Still under Nassidren's control, she accuses Tarsu Khan of directing her actions. Conan fights his way to freedom, using Zaida as a hostage. Conan flees with Zaida into Nightmare Swamp where they and their pursuers encounter a devil-lizard and half-human beings drained of their souls by the Aksha-Thushtra.
