Conan and a red-skirted female warrior face down a massive, red-eyed rhinoceros on this September 1988 cover, the sheer scale of the beast dwarfing the two sword-wielding figures braced in the tall grass before it. The burst caption — "Quarry!" — sets the tension perfectly, and the cover art by Val Semeiks (pencils) and Geof Isherwood (inks) gives the confrontation a raw, kinetic energy. With Jim Owsley and Semeiks also handling the interior story, this is a solidly crafted chapter in Marvel's long-running sword-and-sorcery series.
