Conan charges headlong into battle on Geof Isherwood's vivid cover, sword raised against an enormous, arrow-riddled green creature whose massive clawed hands threaten to overwhelm him — while a fierce red-haired female warrior leaps in from above, blade at the ready. The titanic beast dominates the scene, hinting that "The Beast" of this 1987 Marvel issue is something truly formidable. With Jim Owsley scripting and Val Semeiks on interior art, this is sword-and-sorcery storytelling with plenty of raw energy to spare.
