In "The Treasure of Tranicos," Conan, fleeing the Picts, stumbles upon a cave brimming with gold and cursed by a fearsome demon. Meanwhile, Zingarian nobleman Valenso, seeking refuge with his family in the northern wilds, finds his peace shattered when rival pirate captains Strombanni and Zarono arrive, drawn by rumors of the lost treasure. When a sighting of the sinister Stygian sorcerer Thoth-Amon sends Valenso into a panic, he vows to flee — but only if he can command a ship. Conan, the only one who knows the treasure’s true location, joins their desperate quest.
