Conan #11/1985
"Skuggor i Zamboula" sees Conan stranded in the desert city of Zamboula, where nightfall brings deadly cannibals prowling the streets. With the help of Zabibi, the woman he rescues, he sets out to save Alafdhal, a sick youth she loves, leading them to a temple and a dangerous bargain with the priest Totrasmek. Written by Roy Thomas and Robert E. Howard, with art by Neal Adams, The Tribe, and Tony DeZuniga, and a cover by Bob Larkin, this 1985 issue delivers a gritty, atmospheric adventure from the heart of the Hyborian Age.
In the sun-scorched streets of Zamboula, Conan fights for survival against night-walking cannibals, rescuing the young Zabibi in the process. Bound by her plea, he joins her in a desperate quest to save Alafdhal, leading them to a temple where a greedy priest demands a magical ring as payment. With blade in hand and vengeance in his heart, Conan confronts treachery and death in the shadows of the ancient city.
In "Khoralas stjärna," Conan journeys to Ophir to sell the gem to Queen Marala, only to learn she’s imprisoned by her own king. With the help of Captain Garus, he frees her, but they’re soon hunted by the ambitious cousin Rigello and his men. Forced to flee into a forgotten ruin, they find unexpected aid in the spectral soldiers of Marala’s ancestral past.
