This issue continues the series' format of presenting a curated selection of daily and Sunday strips, offering readers a nostalgic look at the storytelling and art styles of that era.
"Myste la mystérieuse" delivers a sharp, tense thriller in Comics Parade #4 (1986), a standout issue from Marv Wolfman’s early work, illustrated with bold precision by Keith Pollard and brought to life with dynamic inks by Romeo Tanghal and vibrant colors by Tom Ziuko. When two rival mob bosses are assassinated and the Assistant D.A., Marcia King, spares the killers to uncover their employer, the vigilante known as Vigilante takes justice into his own hands—only to be brutally wounded. With his secret identity at risk, J.J. makes a desperate move, commandeering an ambulance to hide the injured hero before Captain Hall and the police arrive.
In "Myste la mystérieuse," newly minted Sun Devils Rik and his friends face their first mystery: untangling the true intentions of the enigmatic Shikon and the elusive Myste, whose motives remain as shrouded as their identities.
In "Les témoins," the tension mounts as two rival mob bosses are assassinated, leaving Assistant D.A. Marcia King torn between justice and her growing connection to Adrian. When a vigilante steps in to stop the killers, he’s gravely injured—forcing J.J. to make a desperate move to protect the investigation by hijacking the ambulance, all while hiding the vigilante’s secret identity from Captain Hall and the police.
