This issue of Comet is an anthology containing three stories. "Shorty the Deputy Sheriff" follows the titular character as he attempts to catch "Swindlin' Sam," a con artist who operates various scams involving fake gold mines and disguises. "Tough Tex" depicts the muscular hero saving a house from fire and rescuing citizens, ultimately defeating outlaws and a damaged bridge while protecting a group of girls. "Mick the Moon Boy" reveals that Mick, presented as a captured outlaw, is actually a Truth Pellet-powered wonder who helped Sheriff Buller capture the Red Rube gang, earning him the reward and Mary's gratitude. "Dr. Grunter's Zoo School" concludes the issue with a story in which Dr. Grunter transforms various animals and birds into other creatures as a lesson for his schoolboys, including turning a pig into a polar bear and other animals into different species.
