Comet #194 is an anthology issue containing multiple stories. "Shorty the Deputy Sheriff" follows a diminutive lawman who helps transport a cartload of gold to the bank but encounters trouble when fellow deputies decide to throw him a party and inadvertently cause chaos. "Tough Tex" features a burly sailor working at a ferry who becomes involved in retrieving a lost item, eventually pulling himself hand-over-hand across a rope toward a boat while a floating buoy creates complications. "Mick the Moon Boy" recounts how an invisible boy named Mick, aided by his friend Hank, uses his invisibility to help the sheriff capture Red Rube and his gang of outlaws who were terrorizing the area. "Kit Carson" depicts a race against time in which Kit Carson must rescue Nelly and her father from hostile forces, with Kit throwing an unconscious Redskin from a wagon while the team races toward Packhorse Bridge, only to find the crossing too narrow for the wagon to pass.
