Part of the long-running De Avonturen van Bert en Betty series, this 2023 Collectie Fenix installment — De Zeekoningin — brings the chaos front and center with a lively crowd of characters tumbling through what appears to be an underwater facility, a large porthole revealing a vivid aquatic world teeming with fish, a jellyfish, and a mysterious green figure lurking in the depths. Center stage stands a regal figure draped in a royal red-and-white cloak and crown, surrounded by a colorful cast including soldiers, a scientist, and our familiar duo, all mid-scramble in true slapstick fashion. By creators Hurey and Acar, this entry in the beloved Belgian series looks like a wonderfully absurd aquatic adventure.
