Studios run with this 2012 installment, and the Cover A image says everything about the tone — a pale, shirtless figure bearing bloody wounds across his chest advances from a shadowed, texture-rich background with an unsettling calm. The understated menace here is genuinely striking: hands slightly open, head smooth and scarred, the figure carries the unmistakable weight of someone who has passed far beyond ordinary pain. Mature-readers horror doesn't get much more atmospheric than this.
