Written by Chris Claremont and illustrated by June Brigman, with inks by Roy Richardson, colors by Glynis Oliver, and letters by Joe Rosen, this 1989 issue features a cover by Kieron Dwyer and Al Milgrom.
In "Motherland," Storm takes Colossus back to his Russian village, where old wounds and new dangers surface when a burning propane truck threatens the community. Though he steps in to save the day, Colossus is arrested under suspicion of desertion—until Colonel Vazhin intervenes and grants him passage home to the X-Men.
