El Profesor-X descubre la existencia de un nuevo mutante y sus alumnos se preparan para buscarlo. Scott descubre a este mutante, que trabaja en un circo con el nombre de La Mole. Rechaza la oferta de unirse al grupo, pero en ese momento llegan Warren y Jean y la Mole cambia de opinión. Una vez en la escuela la Mole rechaza unirse al grupo y escapa. Se autoproclama jefe del circo y reúne a los empleados dándoles armas. Aunque el Ángel observa esto, llega tarde para advertir a sus compañeros, que pierden el primer ataque, pero el Profesor X logra liberar al resto del grupo y logran vencerlos.
