About this Collection

This volume collects the final issues of the original Marvel G.I. Joe series, including issues #141–155, as well as the G.I. Joe: Special Missions series and other related material. It wraps up the long-running storyline from the 1980s and early 1990s, featuring the ongoing conflict between the G.I. Joe team and Cobra.

In "No Simple Solutions," the G.I. Joe team faces moral crossroads as they uncover remnants of Terror-Drome in Canada, while Snake-Eyes stands guard during Scarlett’s successful surgery. Meanwhile, Billy and the Joes race to Cobra Island to confront Fred VII, who’s showcasing new Cobra tech, and the tension escalates when Raptor proposes to Mindbender to resurrect the Commander as a clone—using his dead body. The Baroness begins to question her path, and Destro, choosing love over power, follows her, abandoning both M.A.R.S. and his leadership role. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Geof Isherwood, with inks by Randy Emberlin, colors by Bob Sharen, and letters by Rick Parker, this issue’s cover by JonBoy Meyers captures the storm of shifting loyalties.
