Chrononauts #3
The time-hopping mayhem of Chrononauts hits its third chapter with a cover that radiates roguish confidence — a bare-chested man in a fur-trimmed pink robe stands atop what appears to be a giant cocktail glass, flanked by a glamorous 1920s-style woman in gold who casually smokes a cigarette, while a crowd of onlookers and hard-edged figures, including a tommy-gun-toting gangster type, press in around them. Sean Gordon Murphy's linework is loose, cinematic, and enormously fun, capturing the sense of two people who've landed somewhere they absolutely shouldn't be and are thoroughly enjoying it. Millar and Murphy's time-travel adventure is in full swagger here, and this issue promises the kind of gleeful anachronistic chaos the series has been building toward.
