“Chili Tells It Like It Is!”

Marvel's Chili series delivers another slice of breezy early-'70s fun with issue #24, featuring Stan Goldberg's cover art that captures the star mid-arrival at what looks like a lively party. Chili grins as she carries a large mirror through the door, delivering the punchline right on the cover: "Well, you told me to bring my best friend!" — while a blonde woman in a patterned dress reacts with surprise and a blue-haired woman in the foreground laughs along with the celebrating crowd beyond. It's the kind of cheerful, gag-forward humor that made this series a charming corner of Marvel's 1973 lineup.
