Charlton's Cheyenne Kid strides boldly into trouble on this 1965 cover, penciled and inked by Rocco "Rocke" Mastroserio, as the blue-jacketed, blue-hatted hero squares off against a menacing gunman while a crowd of rough-looking townsfolk looks on. The cover copy sets the scene perfectly — three steel-hearted brothers named Bull, Buff, and Lope have ruled this town with fear, and the Kid has walked right into the heart of it. Inside, writer Joe Gill and artist Bill Fraccio (inked by Jon D'Agostino) deliver the story "The Turkey Shoot," promising the kind of gritty Western showdown that made Charlton's frontier titles such satisfying reads in the mid-1960s.
