From Bryan Talbot and Mark Stafford comes this delightfully unhinged heavenly horror-comedy, with a cover by Mark Stafford that sets the tone perfectly: a scrappy gang of scowling cherubs — tiny, fearless, and radiating attitude — pressed together in the foreground while a snarling mob of fanged, blue-skinned vampire creatures looms over them from every angle. The contrast between the pint-sized protagonists' defiant glares and the slavering horde bearing down on them is equal parts funny and genuinely unsettling. "Paradise Lost" looks like exactly the kind of irreverent, monster-packed romp that makes 2007 a fun year to dig through.
