Challengers of the Unknown #42

The League of Challenger-Haters has assembled, and the cover of this March 1965 DC issue makes their grim motto — "Destroy the Challengers!" — feel like a genuine threat. Bob Brown's cover art puts the Challengers on their heels as the towering lava-skinned Volcano Man and the massive robot Kra bear down on them, while Multi-Man and the sneering Drabny close in from below. It's a wonderfully chaotic four-on-four brawl that promises plenty of sci-fi menace inside.
