Catwoman #25
Part of DC's sweeping "Zero Year" crossover event, this New 52 tie-in takes Selina Kyle back to her Gotham roots — and the cover by Terry and Rachel Dodson captures that mood beautifully. A younger, unglamoured Selina stands amid a swarm of cats on a rain-slicked Gotham street, wearing aviator goggles pushed up on her head and a leather jacket rather than her familiar black suit, while a shadowy figure looms in the misty background. Writer John Layman and artist Aaron Lopresti bring their talents to a story ("Before the Claws Come Out") that promises a scrappier, street-level look at the woman who would become Catwoman.
