This issue contains two main stories. "Ragman," written by Herman C. Brouwer and illustrated by Tiny the Elephant's faithful helper, follows a mysterious plague of werewolf-like creatures terrorizing communities, with their origin scientifically unexplained but connected to nocturnal attacks during full moons; Father Daniel summons the Ragman to the village of Pineville to investigate disappearances and confront the werewolf butcher. "A Cowhands Reward" features Clarence Young, a cowherd on a Wyoming ranch, who investigates a spiral of smoke rising from the hills and uncovers a mystery involving a camping operation in the cotton woods.
