While witnessing a session of the House of Representatives on a class trip, Casey feels the buzzing in her head and kills a Congressman on live television. As she tries to evade capture, she crashes her car through a bridge and into a river making her pursuers think she is dead. Casey returns to Angela's apartment to find a pool of blood but her mentor has left a note, a wad of cash and the keys to a car. Casey attends her own funeral and then heads into the future as protector of mankind.
