Casanova #2
Gabriel Bá's cover for Casanova #2 is a striking piece of retro-psychedelic design: a boldly adorned woman in ornate orange-and-gold jewelry and a spiked headdress stands coolly against a deep purple background, a gun leveled in each hand. The palette — vivid oranges, purples, and pinks — gives the whole image a late-'60s spy-thriller feel that perfectly suits Matt Fraction's "Pretty Little Policeman." At just $1.99, this 2006 Image series was already making a confident artistic statement right out of the gate.
