It collects issues such as Carnage #1, Web of Carnage #1-2, and related storylines where the red symbiote clashes with Spider-Man, Venom, and other heroes. The book also features the introduction of the character Shriek and the formation of Carnage's twisted family.
In "Excerpt from Web of Spider-Man #117," Matt faces a high-stakes trial over Venom's actions, using cunning tactics to draw Spider-Man into the proceedings. Just as the courtroom tension reaches a peak, the district attorney calls Cletus Kasady as a witness—only for the moment to erupt into chaos when Kasady transforms into Carnage mid-testimony. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Josh Hood, with inks by Derek Fisher, colors by Tom Smith, and letters by Ken Lopez, this pivotal story features a cover by Sal Buscema and John Bligh.
