Captain Marvel Jr. #84
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis April 1950 Fawcett offering packs a full 52 pages of adventure for just a dime, and the cover by Kurt Schaffenberger sets the tone perfectly — Captain Marvel Jr. is sprawled helplessly across a car, his blue-and-gold costume no match for a street that's lost all friction, as startled bystanders tumble and slide around him. His exasperated "Holy Moley! This is worse than trying to walk on ice!" speech bubble says it all, teasing the tantalizing promise of "The Man Who Destroyed Friction" within. Otto Binder's script and Bud Thompson's interior art bring the story to life in what's a wonderfully imaginative premise that could only come from the golden age of superhero comics.
