Captain Marvel Jr. #39
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis June 1946 Fawcett issue puts a clever spin on superhero storytelling: the cover by Bud Thompson shows Captain Marvel Jr. swooping in to literally grab a giant Daily Post newspaper whose headline reads "CAPT. MARVEL FOILS…" — while a smirking, red-haired villain with round glasses tears at the page from the other side. The cover blurb promises a showdown between Capt. Marvel Jr. and Sivana Jr. in "The Headline Stealer," written by Otto Binder, and the visual concept of a headline being stolen right before your eyes is a wonderfully playful setup.
